Desert Sunset
Little Letitia
Letitia Little lives in the Twin Cities and after a 40-year career as an award-winning interior designer, is working on her second career as a visual artist. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Colorado.
Letitia brings her love of design into her work. Each abstract painting starts with a specific color combination. “I am drawn to color combinations that work well together to create aesthetically pleasing compositions. More than any other design element, color evokes strong emotions, and emotion plays a big part in my compositions. Texture is another element that adds interest to a painting. Scrapes, flecks, combs, sheen, paint thickness all create a sense of discovery. I strive to create a sense of drama in each painting by placement and balance. And working on large canvases contributes to that goal.” Whether a painting is an abstract landscape in serene desert colors, a simplistic, minimalist statement or a vibrant abstract with confident brushstrokes, each piece represents Letitia’s unique painting style.
Her paintings have been in many exhibits throughout the Twin Cities including Hopkins Center for the Arts, Artistry at Bloomington Center for the Arts, Grand Hand Gallery in St. Paul and the annual Minnesota Artist Association member shows. For more info visit her website www.letitialittle.com.
