After retiring from my full- time faculty position at the School of Social Work/ University of St Catherine’s and St Thomas in 2007, I finally had the opportunity to pursue my interest in art and became an “Art Adventure” guide at the Minneapolis Institute of Art (Mia) as well as enrolling in a watercolor class with Marian Alstad. This year, 2017, ten years later, I am retiring from teaching to make even more time for travel and art. My preferred modality is watercolor painting which I call the “poetry of painting”. It is important to get the essence of a subject on paper and one’s reaction to it. My work has been described as “impressionistic” or “painterly “. I hope that you like it as much as I enjoy making it.
